The NSF Energy Storage Engine recently joined battery leaders from across North America at the NAATBatt International 2026 Annual Meeting and Conference in Tucson, Arizona. NAATBatt’s annual meeting is a premier gathering for the advanced battery industry, convening senior executives, innovators, and supply chain stakeholders to discuss what is next in battery technology and manufacturing.
Representing the NSF Energy Storage Engine and our growing Upstate New York ecosystem, including NENY, Battery-NY, and NY-BEST, 10 members of our team attended to strengthen relationships, build new ones, and share how the region is accelerating the path from discovery to deployment. The conference held February 9-12, 2026, provided a valuable forum for connecting with companies and government organizations working across materials, manufacturing, safety, recycling, and applications for the commercial and defense sectors.
A key moment was our CEO’s Member Spotlight presentation, which elevated the Engine’s mission and shared the progress our coalition is making to advance battery innovation, expand domestic manufacturing capability, and grow the workforce needed to scale. The spotlight offered an opportunity to share how the Engine connects partners, facilities, and talent to help de-risk development and speed real-world adoption.
We were also proud to support NAATBatt 2026 as a Megawatt Sponsor, underscoring our commitment to collaboration across the battery value chain and to the shared work of strengthening U.S. leadership in advanced energy storage.
NAATBatt 2026 offered a clear snapshot of where the industry is headed, with strong attention to scale-up, manufacturing readiness, and real-world deployment. We are proud to have represented the NSF Energy Storage Engine and to have helped highlight vision of establishing Upstate New York as America's Battery Tech Capital.
